When I was growing up, I had no friends. I was weird and had social anxiety, so every day instead of playing with my friends after school I would watch The Little Mermaid. Ariel was everything I wanted to be - adventurous, strong willed, spontaneous. The songs and stories told about Ariel were able to distract me from the fact that I had no one to hang out with in my spare time, and she made me want to change the person I felt myself becoming (not to mention she is gorgeous). Even in my adult life, I tend to live inside my safe little world where I can weigh the risks and stick to my routine. That is no way to live, and my shoulder piece is a way to remind me to try new things and to be adventurous and to put it all on the line for things I’m passionate about. This tattoo is beautiful and I couldn’t be more pleased with it!
This is my Ariel. I’ve wanted an Ariel tattoo since I knew what a tattoo was, I just didn’t expect her to be so beautiful! She took four hours and I have to admit is was one of the greatest days ever, Gemma at Cherrys Tattoos in Hornchurch, London slaved away at her and made her perfect! This was taken about 5 minutes after we finished for the day. I’m booked in again on the 15th November to have her coloured. I can’t wait to go back, partly to finish off Ariel and partly because everyone there is so much fun and so lovely!
